Secretary of State for the Fight against fraud Devlies Carl wants to block, thanks to new legislation on gambling, sites of paris foreigners who do not have a permit in Belgium. Paris sites on the Internet should operate from Belgium, which should make it inaccessible to many such sites based abroad. This new law has received the royal signature last week.
Bet now on the internet is still an illegal practice but is expected to change by early 2011. The new legislation should go to make paris the Internet and then also play poker online without risking to be punished.
The House of Representatives of Belgium had approved the bill on gambling in early December. “The industry of gambling, it’s big business,” explained then the Belgian Secretary of State for the Fight against fraud, Carl Devlies allocating a compelling mission to the text: “The aim is to ensure better player protection. ”

In Belgium, the law gives a commission on gambling broad powers: the power to further administrative fine, it can issue warnings to any person or entity who violates the law or suspend or revoke the license temporarily or permanently, inspired by French Casino law: Again, nothing is said about the method. Sites should operate in practice from Belgium. This mechanically exclude all operators based abroad that have not established a branch in that country
Last year, 2.2 billion euros have been played in our country. Slightly over 200 euros spent by each of the Belgians.
