A study that goes against what can be read for several weeks, particularly on the numbers given on the subject. According to a survey by TNS Sofres for EPIQ, internet still occupy a marginal place in regard to gambling in France, while the French remain cautious on the subject, and seem to feel little affected by the forthcoming opening market.
The study is instructive as to the interest of the French for online gaming, 45% of French do not know any sites for gambling online. Among the French who are gambling in general (48% of French), they are only 4% to play games for money on the Internet.
In addition, fewer than one in five French (19%) said trust sites gambling on the Internet and a small minority (3%) they are completely confident.
